We Made It Home and Slept Like Babies

February 4, 2022

We made it home again. We pray that this time is for good. The weather cooperates and the roads were clear. Our family clear the path all the way to the garage – thank you Jim and Randy!!

Being home again brings about a small measure of anxiety. We are once again in charge of Kristi’s well being and progress. Tomorrow a home health care assistant will come to the house to check her out and make sure we are progressing well.

We are grateful to be back with our kids and so humbled to receive overwhelming love from family and friends.

Last night, we slept so well in our own beds. Kristi did well and we have gotten into a rhythm to manage her pain. Thank you for praying!

What’s Next?

For the next 3-4 weeks Kristi will heal and regain her strength. We have a follow-up appointment to remove the staples in her stomach. We also have an appointment with the Oncologist to discuss nexts steps.

Here’s the truth – we have a little fear, not because we don’t trust God, but because we don’t know what the future holds.

I got to interview Steve Cuss, the author of Managing Leadership Anxiety yesterday for my podcast. He quoted Elizabeth Elliot:

“Sometimes the fear does not subside and one must do it afraid.”

This hit home for us. The fear may never got away, but we must go forward afraid. God is faithful and good. We trust Him!

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1

God has been lighting the way for each step. We trust that He will continue to do so. He had also brought people of peace into our path. We can never say thank you enough!

  1. We are super happy for you Kristi. We are stoked that your surgery went well and was l e s s invasive than originally thought. Glad you’ve finally escaped the hospital at long last ! Kristi, your warrior spirit runs parallel with The 23rd Psalm and He is your Shepherd every day. Claim all that He has proven to be yours as His obedient child and Believer in His word and truth daily…….”I shall not want.” He will care for you in all manner of need.

  3. So glad you’re home! While Jim and I were clearing the snow off the road leading to the house my emotions spilled over. Even though there were below zero wind chill temperatures; it was fun knowing that I was helping “clear the way home”. Love you both and excited to see how God is using your story to impact others.
